Data engineering workshop (DEWS) has been held every early spring centered by young researchers, setting its topic on a variety of research themes on data engineering. A variety of researches, from important themes to burgeoning, advanced, and precursory ideas, are presented every time at DEWS. Thus it is recognized as the one of the largest events on data engineering in Japan.

DEWS2007(18th IEICE data engineering workshop / 5th DBSJ annual meeting) will be held in Hiroshima, which is known for two world heritages, Miyajima/Itsukushima Shrine and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Hiroshima is an attractive city from the viewpoint of history, nature, and food. In particular, Moto-Ushina area where DEWS will be held, is a famous seaside resort that faces Seto Inland Sea. We guarantee you will all have beneficial discussions and exchanges in information at this beautiful place. Please participate in DEWS2007 !

Submission

DEWS2007 allows you to have either "Regular Presentation" or "Regular Presentation + Interactive Presentation". It does not allow you to have only "Interactive Presentation". A style of each presentation is classified in the following sub categories.

Regular Presentation
(Select either of two)
(a) Japanese Session (Paper: Japanese or English, Presentation: Japanese)
(b) International Session (Paper: Japanese or English, Presentation: English)
Select either of three (1) Nothing
(2) Poster
(3) Demonstration
(4) Poster + Demonstration

Please select your presentation style from (a1), (a2), (a3), (a4), (b1), (b2), (b3), (b4) on your submission. For example, in case of (a4), an author can have poster presentation and demonstration in addition with regular session's presentation, and in case of (b1), an author will have a presentation only in the international session.

Terms on Agreement regarding Publication of DEWS2007 Proceedings

IEICE Data Engineering Technical Group (DE) will publish proceedings of the DEWS2007 after the conference. On publication, the copyright of each paper is attributed to its authors, but the right of public transmission and the right of transcription are provided for DE. Before submitting to DEWS2007, please read the publication policy on DEWS2007 and understand this agreement term.

Terms on Agreement regarding Digital Archiving of DEWS2007 presentations

Database society of Japan (DBSJ) will digitally archive all of presentations in DEWS2007 and will distribute them on DBSJ Web site (http://www.dbsj.org). Before recording a presentation, DBSJ will exchange a memorandum with its author. For the archiving, MS Office PowerPoint must be used by the authors when preparing presentations. DBSJ asks authors to bring their PPT files by USB and to use Window computer for their presentation. However, if it is impossible, please ask us as soon as possible.

Awards

DEWS Excellent Paper Award
From papers presented at DEWS2007, excellent papers selected by the program committee will be presented DEWS Excellent Paper Award. 1-2 exceptional papers will be presented DEWS Best Paper Award. The awarded papers will be recommended as research group recommendation papers for an IEICE journal.
DEWS Excellent Presentation Award
From interactive presentations, excellent presentations selected by the program committee will be presented DEWS Presentation Awards. 1-2 exceptional presentations will be presented DEWS Best Presentation Award.
Session Chair Recommendation for DBSJ Letters
From papers presented in DEWS2007, selected ones recommended by session chairs will be recommended for DBSJ Letters Editorial Committee. After the recommendation, the papers will be processed based on DBSJ Letters Editorial policy and submission rules.
